Upper Frederick Township Board of Supervisors has taken steps to declare a snow emergency. This emergency has been declared because of the expected snow and possible icing events that may follow. Please make sure you take the steps necessary to prepare for this storm. And please remove vehicles from the roadway to allow the plow crews to clear the roads. The declaration can be found HERE.
Your Upper Frederick Board of Supervisors William Landman, William Karaffa, and Lisa Fischer are proud to announce that in collaboration with the Township Manager Aaron Walizer we have been able to secure a grant award of $144,550 to replace our tired backhoe! This piece of machinery is used by our publics work team for road repairs, swale work and other large projects in the township. By being able to secure a new backhoe we will continue to be able to do work in-house that delivers results while saving money.
With the start of 2026 under way the Board of Supervisors held their Reorganizational Meeting on January 5, 2026, at 7:45pm. At the meeting Supervisor William Karaffa and Tax Collector Deneen Rhoads-Kratz were sworn in by Magisterial Judge Hon. Maurice H. Saylor. Township Manager Aaron Walizer was reappointed as manager and the Board of Supervisors officially organized the Open Space Committee with Ordinance 2026-01 because of the successful November 2025 open space referendum. As a first order of business the Board of Supervisors will be working on revising the township code to better position the township towards preservation and help keep Upper Frederick rural in nature.
